Avatar won in both the main headline Globes categories: Best Film and Best Director, putting it on track for a clean sweep of Oscars at the 82nd Academy Awards on March 7. Best Actor: Jeff Bridges for his role as an alky singer in Crazy Heart. Best Actress, at both: Streep for Julie & Julia and Bullock for The Blind Side. (At the Golden Globes, to get more stars to show up, the actors’ awards are split into Comedy/Musical and Drama.) Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds. Best Supporting Actress: Mo’Nique, Precious: Based on the Novel “Push” by Sapphire.
